How can i start thinking more positive and improve self-esteem?
My negative attitude and "always expecting the worst" way of being almost ruined the best things in my life and all the relationships i have.
i try to change but i don't even realize there was a positive side to what one said.
I take everything as a personal attack and i hurt myself and the people around me.

1. What has happened to you over time is that you have built-up negative thinking habits.
You're only cure is to change those habits, and unfortunately that takes work.
These books can help a lot...
So use this book...
http://www.amazon.com/Mind-Over-Mood-Change-Changing/dp/0898621283/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1288204559&sr=1-1
Or this one...

And adapt its exercises to your situation to help.
You need to work hard and consistently at this for at least, at the very least, for 30 days to see improvement.
Best wishes.
2. One way to start you on the road to more positive thinking is keeping a journal. This will help you see over time where your negativity is coming from.
You can also keep a journal of things you are thankful for. Everyday you write about something you are thankful for and this slowly begins to change your mindset and it becomes easier to see the good and positive stuff in your life.
Also check out this web site it has great articles about positive thinking and journal writing!!
