4. Sure it will. We really ARE our own attitudes and thoughts, and we can change these merely by insisting to ourselves that "I can take it, no matter what!" If you are eating well every day and sleeping safely every night, you are living better than 3 billion other persons. Now that is positive, no matter what...and enough ground for happiness.
5. The greatest benefit is that it can keep anxiety and stress at bay. That is a huge advantage in today's world, isn't it? However, it is next to impossible to remain positive all the time. All we should aim for is to minimize negative thoughts as much as we can.

You have raised a pertinent doubt because if it is self-deception, then the illusion will clear off one day and we would be back to square one with a jerk or a bang that can prove even more damaging or harmful.
We must differentiate between idle optimism and positive thinking.... positive thinking is not the same as idle optimism based on unrealistic hopes..... it is realistic in the sense that there is no denial about the possible negatives; all that happens is that we direct and focus our mind on the positives, given the irrefutable fact that everything in our world has two sides to it..... thus, if we do not get into the denial mode, even when something negative does happen, the positive attitude would find something plausible to work on rather than get depressed and stressed due to it..... strictly speaking, the positive attitude refers to acceptance of whatever has happened, good or bad, so that we don't get stuck with it and look for better future possibilities in order to move on...... it is the negative attitude that gets stuck with the past because of being unable to see the light of positive hope that future can provide. Uncertainty is the common source for both hope and fear..... Positive attitude creates active hope from uncertainty whereas the negative attitude simply gets us stalled and shrunk out of fear.

-How many moments of frustration do you live daily? Well, everyone is not perfect in life and so sometimes you may have moments when you are frustrated. This is common in everyday life, you can't expect to be perfect because then you will soon make a mistake again. The way to cope with frustration is don't let everything make you angry. If you are having a conflict at work or somewhere else, then you will want to immediately try to stop the conflict. If that one person dosen't want to respond in a positive way, then leave at that because you responded positively and yo don't want a conflict to ruin your day. The same way happens if someone tries to pick a fight with you. Many think that if someone hits you, you have to hit them back. I can't control others in their life, they have to figure a way on which is the better way to respond. But, what I am recommending is that try walking a way from a fight. If that person trys to still pick I fight with you, then there are sometimes in cases you have to defend yourself to fight for your life. On the other hand, try not to pick a fight with him/her.
