What are the symptoms for existential depression, and how does it differ from other types of depression? Thanks.

One such possible cause is existential in nature, that is, a person ends up questioning his or her life, death or meaning of life, and by doing so, lapses into depression.

2. Existential depression is different from other types because it specifically arises when you face questions about life, death, freedom, and the meaning of life. The symptoms are the same as for normal major depression except that a person suffering has a unique sense of hopelessness. This type of depression is not usually treated with medication.
