Is it safe to say that this mindset exists in all countries?

For my county, the United States (which I am not bashing, by the way, as I love my country and it's constitution, but no country is perfect), I notice a couple mindsets that rub me the wrong way:

1. That our cultural norms do, or should, apply to everyone; and
2. That our laws and constitution do, or should, apply to all countries.

Is this a mindset that is found in all countries, or are these uncomplimentary mindsets found in every country/nation?

Public Comments

1. No, not many idiots would think the laws of their country applies to all countries in the world. It's quite ignorant also to assume that everyone should do as you do. Why not enjoy learning about other cultures rather than pointing out everything wrong with them?

2. No, but it's safe to say that the mindset of generalizing whole populations exists in every country.

*sigh*

3. I'm from Canada, and I most definitely do NOT believe that our cultural norms should apply to all, everyone has their own way of life and set of beliefs.
Also, I find the second one is hard to answer. All government is corrupted and littered with lies, so I'm going to stay away from that one altogether. But DOES it apply to all countries? No, definately not.
