My friend has suddenly become a misanthrope, how can you relate and be civil with this type of mindset?
My friend is now into the universe and energy and all these ideas that life and human entity is deeper and more intricate for any human to ever comprehend. He also thinks humans are somewhat naive and if that don't have the same mindset about creation and life and after life, then they are ignorant. Is this a phase or real, why do people think like this, we argue because I am disinterested about the topic what should I do?

1. You have disinterest because it's uninteresting. He said no humans can understand the concepts, yet he does. It makes no sense. Put your foot down and tell him you don't agree with him and you want to agree to disagree.
2. How can a human find all humans naive, and if a he believes himself to be different...doesn't that make him like all other humans?
Basically to answer your question, all things are phases including your life, I've been many things in my life and I suspect that there are more to come. I conclude you are antagonistic to this friends particular way of thinking because not only is it new and different, it comes off as insulting and perhaps even bigoted.
You simply need to remember a few things, when your friend goes off on that rant...simply say the following quote in response to him..."TO EACH HIS OWN" basically acknowledging everything is a point of view. Without directly engaging him, and then perhaps you can talk about other issues of similar interest.
Few more rules that will help you in all walks of life including people of all phases...
1) Know that nothing stays the same.
2) Do not take yourself seriously.
3) All choices even solutions have consequences.
4) There is more than one perspective to any situation.
3. It is real, most people are too willing to live believing in life after death, because they're scared. Also, many scientists, (also humans) think they know so much about this huge universe, ignoring the fact that they live in an infinitesimally small part of the universe. How could they be so egocentric? With all of human greed, idiocy, uptightness, and general uncreativeness, I have to agree with him.
Why are you disinterested? Do you not care about the beauty of the universe, and it's internal workings? Do you agree with all the idiot humans?
4. -Humor Him as BEST you can... -But be Honest about your Disinterest. If He's truly "Into" what you say He Is, then He'll have to Respect that not Everyone is Where he's "at." ;)
5. You two can agree to disagree. Sometimes that's important.

What's wrong with being into the Universe? We humans are BEYOND puny compared to it, yet we have a kind of Universe inside of us...the trillions of cells that keep us alive. Yet, we are as a whole unintelligent. No book smarts OR street smarts. So, what's so darn appealing about people compared to the rest of the Universe?
7. if any thing play him in some chess and discuss views, it's probably just some superficial interpretation based on a limitation he has personally, society could be a projection of himself into an object to try to distance himself from a very problematic issue, i.e. emotional distress.... if he became a misanthrope by reaction it might mean it is a reciprocal action, i.e. society, humanity as a whole as he sees it is a disappointment they have been given so much and they shit it away, while he deals with a complicated limitation and tries to break through or some how overcome it, he wants to help humanity but they seem not able to benefit from any such help. the condense version would be after always being used pushed aside and avoided and getting fucked over servile times he has developed a contempt for humanity, seeming as they are unworthy of any love since they them self cant show love unless they want some material gain. what should you do.... see if you can be trusted would be the first step...
