What is the best mood and mindset to place yourself in when you write?
I'm a casual writer who has recently thought of a story Idea that's really been bugging me lately since I can't find the right mindset or mood to place myself in when I write.
Should I listen to music that fits the story, should I keep the lights on or off? I'm an inexperienced writer who just wants to get better, but this recent story is really tearing me apart! Don't mean to sound desperate, but if you want to help more, feel free to email me.
Thanks in advance.

1. When I write a story, I usually write in the mood what my story is about. For example, if my story is a sad story, I write when I'm sad. Also, I usually write in a quiet room. But, if I ever need some inspiration, I go to public places and get ideas based off what I see/hear. Or do anything you feel that helps the mood of your writing. Everyone is different, do what you feel comfortable doing.
