Is positive thinking the key to happiness?
I think there is more to it than that :/

1. That's one of them, but there's more.
2. No. It has correctly been said: "Positive thinking is positively wrong."
It's like believing in astrology, like many people on this board do, but positive thinking has no merit.
3. It's not the main thing, but it'll help.
4. I think in many ways it is. If you run into problems ( like i have been A Lot lately) and you think positive it makes it easier to try and resolve them and to handle them. For instance saying to yourself "well this could be worse" gives you a clearer view of things. Idk lol wat im trying to say but yes i think it is
5. To be honest , always thinking positive doesn't make u feel happy . Believe me ! I've tried . It just makes everything worse becuz ur basically forcing urself to think one way , and not the other , which just makes u feel more upset . The real key to happiness is doing wat ur heart tells u . Nd doing what u want nd not what others tell u too . Hope I helped !
6. doing that is like living in LaLa land an imaginary world so you have to be realistic and at the same time don't put urself down be fair
7. Yeah, there's more.
8. positive thinking is just another word for delusion... tricking yourself into believing everything is good when it isn't is the most ridiculous advice ever in my worthless opinion
9. Well positive thinking is important but it is even more important to work towards what you want. A lot of times, we want something or some situation to turn out a certain way to gain happiness. Solution : Work towards it and have a positive attitude. Believe you will be successful and more often than not, it will turn out the way you want it to.
Good luck :)
10. Yes.
Happiness is never kept locked. Neither it is kept in a locker. For that matter no key is required. It is a free commodity.
It is valuable and invaluable.
Of course negative thinking, poor thinking, bad thinking, weak thinking or evil thinking habits generates worries, anxieties and unhappiness.
11. Positive thinking helps but you're right - there's more to it. It's actually simpler than most people think. People are happy when they choose to be happy. Abraham Lincoln said, "Most people are as happy as they make up their minds to be." He was right and it shows that happiness is a choice.
Lots of people believe that to be happy you have to earn it. So they don't allow themselves to be happy unless they have a significant achievement. That's unfortunate and very limiting.
No matter what happens to a person, they can choose their feelings. When Viktor Frankl was in a Nazi death camp for Jews in World War 2, he learned he could chose how he felt. He didn't have control over much, but he discovered he had control over his feelings. Even though he saw death and inhumanities daily, he decided he was going to be happy. He chose happiness because he could. So can you.
Smile!
12. I think it is a huge part of it! Positivity kind of goes along with all other elements of happiness - hope, joy, cheer, excitement. If you're not positive how will you experience hope? How would you experience excitement? I think everything ties back to positive thinking. That's why I try to be as positive as possible at all times. I really do think it's true that your outlook on certain things can make them less emotionally painful.
Having said that, everyone has their own unique definition of what happiness is. Maybe positive thinking doesn't work with everyone, I wouldn't know. But I do think optimism is a good start on the road to happiness.
