Do you believe that positive thinking and positive visualizing can cure illness?

I do and i have so much confidence that through constant repetive positive thoughts, affirmations and guided imagery along with a strong faith in GOD ( by the way i am not religious i just acknowledge the existence of a higher power ) that we can overcome anything.
I am not saying to rule out medical treatment. if its needed get it. but the thoughts can really cure.
why is it that optimists always recover faster ?

6. No. Placebos work, but only to a degree.

7. Yes, I do! Especially when combined with sound medical treatment.

8. I think positive thoughts can very definitely help towards self healing and keeping you healthy. I think visualization can help you to heal too. I agree with you on this.

9. God is the giver and taker of life. Prayers do affect healing but His grace is sufficient for all suffering.
Not placebo!!! If it were not for God I would be dead or at least paralyzed and I will testify to that.

10. positive thinking is good

11. To some degree, but more or less it is just your mind telling you that your better now

12. Yes it is very possible, but that doesn't mean that it always will.

13. Yes, read "The Intention Experiment" by Lynn McTaggart.

14. Yes, exuberant optimism can play a part in overcoming illnesses and myriad other obstacles. The mind greatly influences physical processes. If one expects that something will happen with enough conviction, one's physical response - be it unconscious actions or internal processes - will work towards the fulfillment of said expectation. A similar correlation can be observed in the "Placebo Effect."

15. No, I don't :)
