positive thinking?

how can i become more of a positive thinker? do u recommend any websites that can help?

also try this, jot down your strengths and weaknesses and wht are you gonna do about them, also wht you want to accomplish in life that would make you feel proud of your self. go back every day and add to this list and them your thought would be clear about what you want and you can be more positive . as ultimately our positives outweigh our negatives as we all are unique

2. I agree. I think starting a yoga class is the best and easiest way to start meditating. It's good for your body and mind. Meditation is the way to turn your life around. I prefer physical forms such as yoga, dance, tai chi or aikido.

3. First of all, be honest with yourself.
Look for the good points in any situation and see how they affect your personal being.
Denying truth or lying to yourself is one of the strongest and worst negative points, and will always bring you down.
I agree with a previous note, spend some time, each day, meditating and looking into yourself and start trying to take at least one step forward each day.
Never go to bed angry.
When yo wake up in the morning, thank God for a new day and look, with excitement, for what is in store for you today.

4. How about that childrens book about the little train that could. Or that Bing Crosby song Accentuate the Positive. It isn't too hard if you try.

5. it is easy to see what you don't have, try to see what you do have. IE good health, avg. or more intelligence, family. it is not easy to compliment yourself, be thankful for what you have. i worked 12 yrs. in a home for handicapped people, i am very lucky with myself, my kids and grandkids, but still there are days,take care

6. While I have a high regard for Norman Vincent Peale (who wrote The Power of Positive Thinking), I'm not overly fond of the rest of the overly simplistic positive thinking stuff. The only motivator in that direction I use these days is a reminder that negative thinking is so depressing and life's too short to stay depressed.

I had a teacher that insisted a common traffic light (red, stop; green, go; yellow, go real fast--no, I added that) should really be called a "go light" instead of a "stop light" because "It is green as much as it is red". When leaving class the first traffic light we stopped at carried the red over all four ways in order to clear the intersection before the next lanes got a green light. Obviously that teacher didn't drive that way to work. The idea is to break up traffic, if it didn't want me to stop it wouldn't have given me the red light. She put out three glasses, carefully filled half-way. Calling on one student to describe it, he answered "half-empty". Then your glass is half-empty and she handed him the water. Calling on another student, who got the idea, and he said, "Half-full". Pleased, she gave him the glass of water. She asked me about the third glass. I said, "I appeal to that French king." Puzzled, she asked what I mean, "Phillip [as in fill up] the Third." To this day I don't know why that teacher didn't like me.

8. sometimes it's as simple as being able to appreciate what you have. if you are in a large city, work up the nerve to go to the waiting room of a burn ward or go to a Childrens hospital ER and take a look around. once you get out of there you will feel so lucky you will gain a new respect for people who have enormous challenges and you will realize how much inner strength people do posses. the power is in your mind, just set up a new framework for your thoughts and don't go down a negative path for it just leads to more negativity.

9. Decide to be positive thinker, that would be the first (of many) positive thoughts you will have. I imagine you want bit more indtruction but in essence it has to come from you for it to work.

If you are having neg thoughts, shake you head and consciuosly replace them with positive. The more you do this the easier it gets.

My advice is get some Tony Robbins literature or tapes and start on your own journey. YOu have everything you need already within you, learn to use it to improve your life.
