Spiritually speaking, do you think positive thinking does any real good to help make real changes.?

Or is it just wishful thinking. Guess I am asking about this law of attraction stuff. In theory it sounds like an idea, but before I bother I want to know if it has worked for anyone.

Public Comments

1. Absolutely it does good. I don't believe it has direct effects on the world around you, but it does change the way you perceive that world and thus how you act in it.

2. Positive thinking is certainly important to get you to *make* those changes for yourself, but just wishing and hoping isn't going to do squat.

You have to actually act.

3. The principles of the law of attraction, i.e. “The Secret”, are benign witchcraft and sorcery due to its manipulation of your will over the Will of the Father.

Whereas, the Holy Scriptures do say to think on and meditate on good things and not bad, because we become what we ingest, spiritually speaking.

4. your heart goes after your actions ^_^
i meditate on any virtue i can

5. Positive thinking in my life has been the source of amazing changes. It is how I met my husband, how I paid for college, where I live, how I paid off debt, etc.... I truly believe that positive thinking can work miracles.

If nothing else, it helps you see life differently & react differently which causes different results. For instance, if you think that you'll never get a job, that you're not talented or smart enough, you would interview & job hunt differently than if you believed you were the best candidate possible. If you held those positive thoughts, you would interview with more confidence & passion & probably produce a favorable outcome.

6. "Or is it just wishful thinking"?

Prayers, Lucky Chains, Charms, Worry Beads, The Rosary, Hare Krishna beads ... all are 'wishful thinking' BUT whilst you're doing them you're focusing on your goal; you are much more likely to achieve something when you become disciplined, obsessive and or do 'whatever it takes'.

Anything that 'helps' or reputedly helps is worth doing.
The reason anyone is successful is because of the self-belief.
Rarely does anyone become successful without focus or effort ...
other than me of course.
