Does positive thinking change the outcome of situations?

People always say to think positive regarding situations as if positive thinking will actually change the outcome of the situation. I can't remember a time where positive thinking alone did anything for me that I know of.

1. Yes, but only the situations that you have control over. For example- playing a sport, like basketball. If you are shy on the court and run away from everybody, and stay away from the ball, you will play badly and your team is likely to lose. But, if you have confidence and keep a positive attitude, and call for the ball and make things happen, you are much more likely to play better and be successful. Everything is more fun in life if you have confidence about everything that you do.

2. That's the idea behind the placebo effect, where a plain sugar pill works the same as a real pill because people believe they'll get better.

It may or may not change the outcome, but at least you'll be happier.

3. YEAH! good carma:)

4. YES it certainly does, and it is scientific.

When you think, you discharge energies like for positive energies for positive thoughts and negative energies for negative thoughts.

It waves through the being and the enormous space and first of all you.

Le me give you a efficient example:

You have prepared yourself for a job you always wanted, you are satisfied for your preparation.
But when the final day comes you are thinking negative, maybe I may talk inappropriate..., maybe I may make mistakes... maybe they are too rude... and etc. etc.

Your body is acting that way, and usually the day your final interview, you are feeling nervous, anxious, worried and impacting on your interview negatively...

But what if you just relax and think that that interview would be great, everything will be nice, you will have a great chat with some awesome peoples... you will feel clam and cool, and it will impact on your interview positively, maybe you will earn extra impression!

So yes, positive thinking can definitely change the outcome of situations, but you have to be positive all the time :)

5. nope not really

6. Yes, I do. When I was 10 years old, my mother became an invalid from Multiple Sclerosis. When I was 16 years old, I was tired and irritable and when I went to get my mother up for the day, she was sunshine and good cheer.

When I snapped at her for always being cheerful and up, she sat there for a minute and said, "I am not always up. Most of the time I don't feel well, but to whine, bitch and complain will simply make my life and the lives of everyone around me harder, it won't fix, change or solve anything. So, I choose to face each day with good grace to inspire those I love to go forward with what you can fix or change or solve and don't waste time making yourself and everyone around you miserable." I believe she changed the outcome of my life by showing me how to handle difficult situations with good grace. It has served me well in my life.

7. Not always, but if you think positively a bad situation won't always be so bad, If that makes sense.

8. When you think of killing you kill and when you think of saving you save someone.
When you want to love, you love and when you want to hate you hate. When you think positive the chances are that you act positive. All positive actions attract positive outcome. Positive is not decided by an individual. Positive is positive in the larger design of happenings. Because you thought you have done a positive action does not mean that, that action is positive in the larger design of things in the universe. And just because majority people think that the action is positive or the thought is positive, does not mean that in reality the action or thought or speech is positive. Many people will therefore think and quote examples where a positive thought or action had brought on them negativity. The definitions of positive and negative as accepted universally is at fault here. The positve in the mind of God should be taken as positive action and in many cases our moral understanding of this positivity is no where near the positive.

When you think of consoling a person and decide on that, you console the person and the outcome is that smile appears on the face of the person acknowledging the positive result. Where as when you think of consoling a person, your speech would not be abusive or having anger or hatred but it is the language of consolation, then the outcome is pacification. All thinkings if converted to action changes the outcome of situation. Now your question is have a deeper connotion as to whether a situation would change because of someone just thinking positively. Yes, the intense positive thinking creates intense positive vibrations around the individual which can influence the course of events with the individual as well as his surroundings. Have you ever seen a lover intensely looking behind the head of the departing beloved with the intense thought for her to look back and she does it as intended. The thoughts have power to change the course of events. Thoughts are Ether. Ether is omnipresent. Ether communicates with Ether. Mind communicates with mind. Many birds and animals proves it. Human beings are not developing those powers because they have been given the power of speech and power of seeing and hearing, that they do not use their powers of smell adequately, powers of feeling adquately, powers of sensing adequately, powers of intuition adequately and the kind. Their ego makes them think that what they see is reality and final and ultimate. There is nothing beyond that and they are satisifed with those thoughts.
