Can you use personal names during your affirmations?

When doing affirmations, I of course use the words I am as they have said. If I know whom I want to be with and in love with can we use his name at all. I have been told not to use someones name.

1. I would also advise against using a specific name in your affirmations. I believe our outer circumstances reflect who we are inside. For instance, if I am loved it is because I have love within me not because someone else decided to love me. Our lives are really about who we are at our deepest levels...other people simple reflect back to us what is going on within. Hence, affirmations should be done for the self; each person has his/her own journey & it is up to them to travel it. It is not up to us to dictate how other people should use their free will.

That being said, if you affirm love for yourself, in your life, coming from others, I think that you'll find your outer circumstances change to reflect what you are affirming. The details & people might not be exactly what you had in mind, but the manifestation will be exactly what you were looking for.
