How arrogant is the mindset of the global warming debate? Our time on this earth is minor in comparison to the geologic and ecologic timescales. The Earth has endured many changes over it's long history. How is it that we can honestly believe that we can predict cycles of the earth accurately given our limited observable knowledge of what has occurred over the entire history? Accepting this basic concept is it possibly true that scientists who support the man made global warming theory may be wrong, or may have another agenda entirely such as governent funding? Let's not forgot that the whole debate has reversed course in just the last 30 years from global cooling to global warming. This is not a debate on whether global warming is occurring, but rather a question of cause and effect. firespider: Weak at best. Can't answer the question so attack the asker. Further I did not give my opinions on global warming in the question one way or the other. But I think we can chalk your answer down to arrogance since your mind is committed to the idea that global warming is manmade and any counter opinion is naive. hichefheidi: At what point did express the idea that the earth only exists for man? hichefheidi: I firmly believe we should do what we can for the Earth including conservation and pollution control. david r: I have absolutely no idea what your tirade is all about. Secret: At what point did I say that global warming is a farce? Further you believe in Global Warming, but you are against alternative fuels to reduce emissions? Speaking of greehouse gases, are you aware that one of the new leading theories propose pumping more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere in order to {ahem} slow down global warming by blocking out the sun's rays? Joey Bagadonuts: Absolutely...No fragile ego here :)
what is Microsoft's global mindset? (the company is Microsoft) what is the companies global mindset and the challenges it had.has in going global? What were some of the pitfalls? What is the place of innovation and technology? (just asnwer this please and if you can, not needed but better, include a site with the info on it!!! it will help me with the other question)
Do questions like this exemplify the mindset of the global warming believer? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090727171521AAU73kB
Is the "Al Gore is in hiding" myth manufactured by the same mindset that denies global warming? I get the impression that facts mean little to those who prefer to deny science. It doesn't take much skill to check Al Gore's published schedule and realize that he is certainly NOT "in hiding lately" at all. So is that also the explanation of why global warming deniers can't get their facts correct about science and the climate data? That is, is it the same phenomenon: Just make up the reality one prefers and then pontificate on it? ===================== OK. I'll count that as a YES. ============================== BB understands it well: Just change the subject when a question is embarrassing. Bait, switch, divert.
Is the great global warming conspiracy a sign of worse to come from American conservatives? It seems to me that back before Regan, in the Goldwater era and earlier, that American conservatives were hard-headed realists, who got their facts straight and proposed solutions for problems in a realistic way, even if those solutions required unpopular sacrifices. Since that time, various crazy ideas have made their way into the conservative mindset, but it seems to me that the looniest of all is the worldwide global warming conspiracy. It seems to me that this conspiracy is so improbable that belief in it is a new level of craziness in the American conservative movement. If a majority of conservatives can become so detached from reality, how can the movement sustain itself, and make progress on things that are really important?
Why do people believe in global wariming when the facts show the opposite? The answer is clear. The scientists that the news media report on have a biased view and profiteering at stake. The liberal mindset wants to control you with there large governmental agenda. Liberalism is a dangerous mental disorder. The news media love it and the more they report on it the more people who don't think, believe it, just because they read it over and over. UGH!
Why do people deny global warming? It seems a lot of people deny the possible existence of global warming passing it up as a conspiracy, often providing no rational for their thoughts. If these people are not concerned with this event than why do they go out of their way to bash those who believe it and the scientific data that supports it? It is not like it affects them personally. Does the average mindset just not want to worry about the future and the issues we're sending onto the younger generation?
Is the environment important to you or is it just considered to be a "liberal mindset"? Whether you're independent, con, lib, atheist...whatever, does it really matter? Even if you don't believe in global warming doesn't it still make sense to reduce, reuse, recycle and cut down on the use of energy and natural resources? Or is it just use and abuse and who cares if we don't leave anything for future generations? People, when are you going to understand that the greenhouse effect is real and that when certain types of gases are trapped in the atmosphere it heats up the earth? Even if the earth is warmed by 2 degrees Fahrenheit it could be catastrophic.
Isn't the promotion of English as a global language just a continuation of the Anglo empire and conquest? I mean the reason English is so widely spoken is because of the British Empire so by telling people they must learn English to succeed is like an Imperial mindset.
global warming, reality or a myth? and what is a carbon credit that hypocrite Gore invented? i am from the mindset that as a society we have some effect upon our environment, ie pollution air, water, soil but i do not believe in a global warming that will kill us all in 10, 20, 30 years or so. the same people who are telling us that global warming will kill us in so many years are the same people who cannot even predict the weather accurately for the next week. so why are some people listening to this mumbo-jumbo. your thoughts please well the earth has always gone through warming and cooling periods its kind like homeostasis that your body goes through to blance itself out. to say that now all of sudden that we are causing the earth to warm is to me ludacris because of what i mentioned earlier. the earth always goes through these trends, so like the comment i recieved about the weather prediction again how can they predict we are killing ourselves through global warming like you said with the weather its a prediction so how can they predict years from now a great global doom when the weather cannot be predicted accurately. quick question, what do you feel about using nuclear energy in replace of coal, while also implementing the use of more solar enerty, hydro, and wind power. i personally would like to see more nuclear power and solar power but thats just my opinion
Greenhouse gas causes Health problems, Global Warming? The EPA is claiming that Greenhouse gases cause health problems. Since WATOR VAPOR is the largest source of greenhouse gas on the PLANET, maybe we should get rid of water? Still trying to understand the mindset of these global warm mongers, since they seem to be posting this question.. http://www.geocraft.com/WVFossils/greenhouse_data.html http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090417/ap_on_go_ot/epa_climate
Anybody want to outsource your business to India? Hi, any one planning to outsource their business to india would start where? Any authority to check the business credentials? The time and money spent in researching in unknown land and finally the mindset to have an global business? where to start and how to go about it?
Who is entering the global rock challenge? Rock challenge is a dance and talent contest, were any teenager can show off their talents. The whole point of this is to show teenages they dont need alcohol and drugs to get enjoyment out of life. Im entering it with my best friends, and our mini band ciarax (dont ask why it is called that. Not my idea!) But anway, who else is entering? This is a global thing so anyone can enter. http://www.stpauls909.herts.sch.uk/images/rock_challenge27.jpg http://www.mindset.co.za/corporate/content/pressroom/images/Rock%20Challenge.JPG YER IT IS!!!!!!!!!!
What is the true motive of the conservative republican? What is the true nature of their ideology of tax cuts for rich and cut programs american working and middle class? What is the true nature of their intense vitriol against gay equal rights, immigration issues, minority inclusion in general, and evidential scientific explanation(global warming, stem cell, nasa etc)? What is all of this really about? I am general interested in the mindset of this type of a human being.
The liberals chase windmills just like Don Quixote. What does this tell you about their mindset? AB 32 will cost hundreds of thousands of jobs, 100's of billions of dollars annually, will triple the cost of gasoline, and will increase the cost of doing business in California. The effect on carbon emissions and the environment will be negligible. In fact if California disappeared off the map, then it would take 70 years to delay global warming by 1 year. http://letters.ocregister.com/2010/10/30/ab32powered-up-by-false-premises/ Kind of ridiculous to argue that it would cost jobs? Digging a hole is not a job, maybe in Soviet Russia it was, but not here. We need to PRODUCE things, friend. Here is the fiscal impact of AB 32, and keep in mind the people that drew it up ADMIT that it will have no impact on the environment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A 60 percent increase in your electricity bill according to the Southern California Public Power Authority. •An 8 percent increase in your natural gas bill according to CARB’s economic analysis. •$50,000 more for the price of a new home according to an analysis by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. •$3.7 billion a year more for gasoline and diesel according to Sierra Research. •A $1,000-$3,000 additional cost for a new car according to CARB and automaker studies. On top of all that, a study conducted for the California Small Business Roundtable found that AB 32 regulations would cost small business alone nearly $200 billion, and would result in more than 1 million lost jobs. Heavy, go DIAF you bring nothing to the table
Is global warming denial no more than a typical conspiracy theory like aliens at Area 51? Global warming denial seems to be becoming a more and more radical mindset, less and less connected to reality. When asked to explain what is causing global warming, deniers cannot present valid scientific arguments. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiYUrYRGadqG8IBJkxgXFDDsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080317123649AA8alyX When asked to explain the scientific data such as a cooling upper atmosphere, again the deniers fail. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiYUrYRGadqG8IBJkxgXFDDty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071215102828AAxyWW6 When asked why the scientific experts overwhelmingly support the AGW theory, deniers either wrongly claim this is not the case http://www.logicalscience.com/consensus/consensus.htm Or claim it's all a vast conspiracy, that hundreds of thousands of scientists are perpetrating a massive hoax just so they can get grants a little more easily. Has global warming denial been reduced to a few tinfoil hat-wearing conspiracy theorists? Ken - good summary, except most of them haven't accepted #6 yet. eric c - don't know why you think I ignore your claims. Especially since I already addressed your 2 articles in previous questions. Global warming --- climate change - Since we are told it is all a myth - I was wondering some things here? For the past 2 yrs the grass has not gone brown in winter here It has stayed green because the weather has been warm enough and the snow non existent enough -- that it no longer turns brown Since climate change is a myth --- how would you explain that s? The Canadian Geese --- who used to be a migratory bird -- are no longer seen flying in V formations practicing their flights south A lot of them just live here year round now But that whole global warming thing is a lie told by Gore --- So why have migratory birds stopped flying south ? They just don't like the Americans ? Squirrels that used to have 2 generations maybe 3 are up to 5 now and going strong -- It is no where near cold enough for them to stop having babies But then global warming is a lie -- a hoax and a myth --- are all these squirrel babies the product of dangerous liberal teaching infiltrating the squirrel mindset? Must be -- The North west passage opened up last year -- for the first time in recorded history the seas in the far North were passable by sea -- More liberals no doubt The frost in the ground ? Nope I could put my boot prints in the mud all last year and the past few years where before the ground would be as hard as a rock ---- some years the frost went deeper than 4 foot -- Now that is unheard of ---------------- Since global warming is a liberal lie --- a myth a hoax etc How are all these things possible --? Jimbo Don't take up law -- it would all be lost on you Trickle I was very careful NOT to say what might have caused it But ---- clearly --- it is changing -- and around here --- warmer winters appear to be the norm now We will have to wait to see what it does this year
Is saying global warming is a myth? the same type of logical mindset used by tobacco executives that say nicotine is not addictive? So by denying it makes it all fine? Fossil fuel gasses don't do squat to the earth's enviroment. 125 billion tons annually of CO2 pumped in the air does nothing. They say it is normal for the earth to have cycles of temperature rises and falls and tie that with the Sun's energy output and perhaps large natural phenomina like volcanic gasses. Polar ice is melting but the GW denialists fail to explain how and why that is happening. The Sun solar output has not increased significantly to be the cause of what is happening on earth today. What is happening is the effects of the atmosphere greenhouse gas balance being caused by humans releasing billions of tons of global warming gasses. How can anyone deny humans are not the cause? Andrew 11, cooling of parts of the earth does not mean that global warming is not happening. The polar ice caps are not expanding and global warming does not mean that all areas of the earth are getting hotter, the weather systems get more freakish as we seem to experience a lot more of globally. Evidence of warming over the average of the earth is solid. Though you think it is more mature to stick your head in the sand and protect yourself with a force field of denial but I am not 12 in fact I am agreeing with the logical fact humans ARE affecting the conditions of this planet. You cannot just burn away fossil fuels like there is no tommorow and throwing billions of tons of gasses each year and say, it will do nothing - it is fine. Just close your eyes and look away it is not happening. Which is what you would like to do.
Why hasn't God done anything about the global suffering of his people, mainly things like poverty? If God is so high and mighty, wouldn't he just step forth and stop this global suffering of his people? Because, it's presumed he has the power to do so. Why on earth would he let them go through this ordeal? Is he just that vile and inhumane? Or is he just another made-up character in a biblical allegory in which that this godly character is used to control people to a degree of difficulty in a cult mindset of believing that there is hope. Moreover, this cult mindset makes us contradict our own opinionated logical reasoning on a rational perspective. It becomes a paradoxical binding that is hard to reason out once we're trapped in the beliefs of the so-called truths in the viewpoint of God. And yet,he gets our hopes up & stands-by and watches us suffer to the economical crisis that we brought upon ourselves. I need educated answers, please. Also, if the question I asked seems confusing because it starts with the "Why" question, I also like to know "What" has God done to help these people that are suffering? One reason to poverty maybe that a minority group of people don't know how to use money, but that kind of poverty is more frequent in a developing economy in a wealthier country. But when we look at the 3rd-world countries, we can see that these people can't even afford a meal to live for the day because the resources are just not there. Because the comfort of their own living has been disturbed by disputes among another group of people.
What will hurt humanity more: global warming, or economic collapse? There is a widely, yet not wholly held conservative belief, or conspiracy, that is not held by any liberal. The mindset that the earth's atmospheric temperature is not rising, and that it could never be due to humanity heating the earth. I'm comfortable with that generalization. My question is: How do you reconcile a disregard for global warming, discredit those who differ as alarmists, while spreading fears of doom over a completely human manifested economy that has no tangibility? Particularly when economies can be rectified much quicker than environmental destruction. I understand the threat of starvation, and I understand the greater threat of living on a greenhouse planet. @Lib Nemesis: I'll give you credit for not thinking the world is only six thousand years old, and I'll even let pass that the earth is billions of years old. Not millions.
March in like a Lion out like a Lion? Come on Global warming!? This has been very cold winter the coldest here in over 100 years? What ever happened to Al Gores Global Warming? Wouldn't that be a blessing if he only knew the benefits of it instead of using it to try to scare everyone! Just think Global warming would benefit the whole world. It would produce warm with lots of rain which would produce Trees(Oxygen) and vegetation(Food) Both are necessities of the world. I bet the Garden of Eden was in a time of Global warming! It is a Ice Age that we should be afraid of? With all this said instead of listening to and believing everything said by others we should always weigh it and consider its truthfulness! When Al Gore said he had invented the internet that should have been a sign? The lefts only leverage(Scare U) I realize the far left has a mindset that will not allow rational thinking! But for the rest of the USA, you need to wake up and think about it. Do you want more Taxes and more Government controlling your life? Then Clinton/Obama I don't Angel Eyes, You brought up another leftus point? Water over 70% of the Earth is covered with it and there is much more under the crust than that. but the left is also trying to scare us about not enough potable water??? So your contention is either not enough or to much either is a scare tactic! What makes any of us meager Humans think we can have any effect on any evolutionary good or bad? Come on get real. Thomas, Goo_head_83 You mention Scientists? All their predictions are just that. That is why it is called theory and they change sometimes from week to week?
Do you need further proof that Global Warming is being used to institute communism in America? 1st: In the 1970's (I believe) they made it ILLEGAL to have a certain size of toilet in your home. 2nd: C.A.F.E. (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) Standards have made cars smaller and less safe. (which would you feel safer in if you were in a crash, a Mini Cooper or a Hummer?) 3nd: In Massachussets, Oregon, Rhode Island, and other states either have inplemented or are talking about adding GPS trackers to cars to track how much and how far you drive, so they can tax you and track you and eventually ration your driving in the name of fairness 4: In Britian in the name of cutting back on the national carbon footprint, they are banning beef and milk in the state hospitals 5: The Smart Grid that Obama and the leftists are talking about will be used to monitor how much energy you use, then eventually be used to FORCE you to ration.. 6: Some enviroment minister in Europe, proposed a GLOBAL law limiting people to just two kids. 7: VHEMT: Human Extinction movement, they call themselves voluntary, but just wait til a politician catches wind of their mindset.. 8: In Austrailia, they are proposing a toilet tax, where that you are taxed on the number of times you flush the toilet 9: Carbon Credits: Are just another grand governmental plan to steel from the rich (and productive) and give to the Nadya Suleman's, the Herietta's, the people who think now that Obama won they won't have to worry about paying their bills, buying gas, paying for their house, electricity, etc. , the welfare recipients who refuse to work of the world. As a liberty loving American, I am in favor of protecting the earth. I don't go down to the Mississippi River and dump a barrel of oil, a bag of garbage, and other stuff into it and if I saw someone doing that I would call the police and try to stop them myself. Also as a liberty loving American and some one who actually studied history I see eery similarites to the whole( especially the radical elements and the government) green movement and the bloshevik revolution in Russia.
Can America Recover From Two Centuries of Trauma? The education crisis in America is a direct reflection of its leadership, whose origins lie in the Jacksonian/Washingtonian era...a mindset that is monolithic, absolute, capitalistic, and steeped in white supremacy idealism of race and class. Despite all that...can she put on a new dress worthy of praise to the global world?
Has anybody traveled extensively, absorbed other cultures & been unable to explain how a nation like the U.S.? could win global conflicts, make horseless carriages commonplace, invent radio, television, motion pictures; land on the moon, perfect microcomputers, restore sight and yet revert to a mindset where a majority of the Citizenry believes our complex government is actually controlled by a simplistic two-party system? Which nations have you lived in? How long? How many languages do you speak fluently? When you were outside the U.S., did you still have regular access to mainstream media (MSM) US news?
The WARMERS are now saying that ice cold temps and snow storms are proof of "global warming"? The WARMERS are also saying its no big deal that: 1. Most data supporting the "hockey stick" graph has been purged, pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act request; 2. And that tree ring data supporting the "hockey stick" graph was based on just 4 trees in Siberia. Is the WARMER mindset, indicative of the truly irrational? http://climaterealists.com/index.php?id=4098

Mindset of Dylan Thomas? What are the main themes that inspired his poetry? How was he affected by political, social and global events during his lifetime, esp. the war? Anything else you know about his general ideology and view of the world will be much appreciated, thanks :)
If we humans were to rapidly, consciously evolve to new values and perspectives, how would that world work? Effectively dealing with the world's biggest problems will clearly require a new mindset -- a whole new way of seeing human life and the values that support it. Our present values and perspectives give us wars, pollution, poverty and many other negative byproducts that are literally threatening the future of humanity. The solution is to consciously evolve ourselves to a new set of values and principles that allow us to live on this planet in a significantly different way. Perhaps it happens as the reaction to a major to global event like rapid climate change, peaking of oil or a financial collapse, but however it happens, it would produce a new world with a necessarily different economy, ecology, philosophy, politics, and governmental systems. What might that look like?
Irritating mindset of people!? Why do people care too much on their social status? They want to be on the "Popular list", they want to be part of the cool ones, they want people to recognize them as a cool person. Plus, I hate it when people care too much on what others are going to say, they want to please almost everyone. Sometimes, it's very irritating when people backbite, talk about the media, talk about their social status. They pick the wrong topics. Why do people love backbiting instead of talking about philosophy or contributing to humanity? Why do people do love small talks all the time? I mean, it's ok to do small talks sometimes, but when each of their topic is all about "their cool lives", "their unique life", "their awesome life." It's irritating! Do they really care about humanity? Do they want to make a difference? It seems like they just want to live their life, please other people, have a secure social status, then ..... to the same things over and over again. Sometimes I'm just irritated when people talk gossips instead of "how to solve the problem of global warming" or " how to solve the problems of poor individuals." Can you give me your ideas regarding this situation? Isn't this alarming? more and more people talk about how wonderful their life is and how they their "friends" appreciate them, instead of talking on the great stuffs -- Like astronomy, what can we do to save our planet? or philosophy, how can we contribute to humanity positively or perhaps why they were given sufficient needs -- knowledge, source of information, money -- and not using them wisely. I mean, do you think those who have much have the responsibility towards those who have less. How can we make a difference? How can we solve this growing problem? Share some of your ideas and wisdom.
Ted Turner, Typical liberal mindset? In a recent TV "interview", Ted said that in 30 years global warming would be so bad that the few humans left on the planet would be eating each other as no crops will have survived. He also calls the terrorists fighting against us "patriots". Is this really how the left is thinking? How can any American hate America this much? To Chick below.... No, he was serious as a heart attack about all of this he was saying. And if you see friend so of the 9-11 bombers or those that strap bombs to their bodies to blow up bus loads of kids as "patriots" you should really expand your reading menu. Link??? ok, read it and then watch the video and then try to dispute me? http://newsbusters.org/blogs/brent-baker/2008/04/02/turner-iraqi-insurgents-patriots-inaction-warming-cannibalism
isnt it amazing, given global jihadist violence, that USA / UK TV hasnt done a series on the history of jihad:? .....from the 7th century conquests through all the --at the time-- christian majority lands that were subjugated and colonised, through to the north african invasions, spanish, balkan and indian invasions, + the repeated attempts to conquer europe. if the muslim community is going to continue to sprout these kuffar & jew--hating xenophobes, who also intimidate and hold the peaceful tolerant muslims to ransom, and incite others to emulate the events of 9/11, 7/7, bali, beslan, madrid, mumbai, munich, locharbie + thousands of other acts committed by the likes of hamas, hezbollah, islamic jihad, alqaeda etc etc etc etc etc etc etc,....then isnt it imperative that people in the west [including muslims who are ashamed of the acts of their co-religionists] are given the opportunity to educate themselves about the roots of the ideology that spawns the terrorists, and the long and continuous history of jihad...that only went dormant as a consequence of western european countries increasing military and technological might? if you think it is important, and that the wests media shouldnt be held to ransom by the trumped up "sensitivities" of a tiny minority with jihadist sympathies, then will you consider making your interest known to the relevant tv companies in your country? channel 4 in the uk used to be known for taking on challenging project, but i'm not sure the lefties at the BBC would have the balls to break out of their dhimmi/appeasement mindset. however, i hope that an american network will.
Why US's car manufacturers has a very conservative mindset? Like we all know,Ford Motor has come up with a new Mustang while Chevrolette introduce the new Z06 Corvette.Teh main dilemma here is that the Mustang uses the ancient rear live axle while the Corvette uses a leaf spring on the back.If the reason is to cut the production cost lower,i can understand that. But,if the main reason is to keep those car in as original as the older version just because a bunch of idiot conservatives ask to,personally i think that's insane!!...How the Americans gonna hit the global market this way?Any comments about these issue??

A question for those against the theory of "global warming" or "climate change". . .? I am asking if you are still in that mindset, when I tell you that FOR THE FIRST TIME ON RECORD, there was no snowfall in North Central Wisconsin. Records go back for over 125 years, and there was ALWAYS snowfall in March. Except for this year. I find this a bit of an indicator. I have lived in this region of the nation all my life - Michigan, Chicago, and Wisconsin - and NEVER saw a March that had no snowfall. But this year, we had NO snow. We had some rain. We are currently under a ban for burning due to the dry conditions. We are inches below average moisture levels for the year so far. Mind you, this is supposed to be the time of year that Wisconsin gets their most significant snow fall amounts - all the way to the end of April. I remember snow storms in early May, for the love. And today?? I sit here in my house with all the windows open, and shorts on. We hit 81 degrees. This is supposed to be snow season still. You know the old joke - Wisconsin: nine months of snow and three months of bad snowmobiling. If this is true, we will be getting our next snowfall in July. Please discuss civilly. I am not looking for attacks of anyone, nor am I looking to be attacked. Thanks in advance. Thanks for no insults or passing judgment. It is greatly appreciated. . .
Spiritually Speaking Is Multiculturalism Bad? The idea of a global culture or "one world culture" has become increasingly popular over the past few decades, promoted in every way possible through the media and education systems etc. What exactly does this mean? Basically, what a global culture refers to is the shedding of all personal and individual cultural identity, heritage and cultural individuality/diversity in exchange for a world culture in which everyone, no matter what part of the world they be from, follows the same pattern. All wearing the same style of clothing, all speaking the same language, all behaving the same and buying into the same basic mindset, all being exposed to the same media and propaganda and so on and so forth. There is no room for diversity in the global culture, which those at the top are trying so hard to usher in. There will be no such thing as cultural richness or pride in one's own unique heritage. What makes us strong is our pride, our strengths and our will to survive and ultimately to continue evolving. The global culture attempts to rip all of this away from us, thus tearing down all the achievements and work that our Ancestors strived for and mash us all into one weakened and diluted mess in order to make us easy to control and manipulate. That is the sole purpose of the global, one world culture, and this is the true meaning of the "new world order". The ideas of christianity and islam always have and always will work towards bringing this global culture into being. The entire world will be mashed into one, all identified as one in the jewish/christian/muslim idea of "the one". Statements such as "we are all one", "obey they one", "we are all the same underneath", "one world, one people" and so on commonly spouted by believers of these so-called religions and their off shoots such as the new age movement are all examples of this detrimental one world mindset. This will serve to greatly weaken the population people as a whole, taking away from us our individual strengths and pride that make us all unique and strong. In essence, we will lose ourselves and become what they dictate to us, if we allow this to happen. A people who have little individuality and nothing of their own are exceptionally easy to control and to herd. Where as if we all abide by our own heritage and cultural teachings and all stand our own ground, it will be an exceptionally difficult task for them to have any kind of control over us what-so-ever. Another thing that goes hand in hand with this global culture is the promotion of interracial sexual relations. Again, the purpose which this serves is to weaken and eventually completely eradicate the individual cultural identity and mash us all up into one state to be easily controlled and manipulated. The media constantly promotes sexual relations between the races, in fact going beyond just labeling it as "ok" and actually encouraging people to mix racially. Those who stand against this (rightfully) are labeled "racists" and shunned by society. There is absolutely nothing racist about wishing to keep your race pure and in its strongest possible form and essence. It is in fact your duty to your race to ensure this and thus continue its survival. The more racial mixing that is promoted, the weaker and weaker and more diluted the races will become, again, forcing in this global culture with the creation of "one race". This would be an exceptionally sad state of affairs. We should support the separation of the races and individual advancement of each race. Again, this is by no means racist. However, people have been programmed and conditioned by those at the top through the media and through the education systems to view this as somehow being "racist". Each race should be able to rule itself and advance itself in order to better itself. Appreciate and foster your cultural individuality, do not help to destroy it by buying into these tactics of global culture and interracial sex. This is not "racism"; it is preserving your own race.
Environmental Science Dimensional Analysis Question? In my environmental science class, this two part dimensional analysis question was posed. Recently, it was raining pretty hard, so one of us decided to drive the one-half mile to get somewhere, rather than walk or ride a bicycle. The drive was one mile total, there and back, and if we assume the car gets 30 miles per gallon of gasoline, it used 1/30 (.033) of a gallon of gas. 1. If 1 billion people made this decision once a week for a year, about how much gas would they use? That certainly is a lot of gasoline, but how much is it really? 2. How far could you drive a typical car (30 miles/gallon) on this amount? 3. About how many typical cars could this fuel for their lifetimes, assuming a typical car gets 100,000 miles in a lifetime and used about 3000 gallons of gas? I have solved the first part, and the answers are below, however the last question of the second part has been more difficult. 1) 1 x 10^9ppl/wk x .033 gal/mile x 1mi/1 ppl x 52 wk/1 yr = 1,716,000,000 gallons/yr = 1.72 x 10^9 gallons/yr 2) 1.72 x 10^9 gal x 30 mi/gal = 51,480,000,000 miles = 5.15 x 10^10 miles 3a) 5.15 x 10^9 miles x 1 car/1 x 10^5 miles = 5.15 x 10^5 cars = 515,000 cars 3b) 1.72 x 10^9 gal x 1 car/3000 gal = 5.7 x 10^5 cars = 570,000 cars 2nd Part. We found that one billion people driving one mile, once a week for a year, use a large amount of gasoline. To continue with our "global thinking" mindset, we could also put this number of gallons of fuel into the context of another fuel usage. Although gasoline used in cars and fuel oil used in a home furnace are not exactly the same (gasoline is more refined and has a lower energy content), for estimating purposes, we can consider them to be equivalent. 1. Assuming 2000 gallons of fuel can heat an average house for a year, how many homes could this amount of gasoline heat for a year? 2. In New Hampshire, there are about 1 million people, so there are about 300,000 homes, and this fuel would heat all of the homes in New Hampshire for about 3 years. There are about 7 million people in Virginia. For how long would this fuel heat all of the homes in Virginia? 1. (1.716e9 gallons / 1 year) x (1 home / 2000 gallons) = 858,000 homes per year 2. (858,000 homes / 1 year) x (1 million people / 300,000 homes) x (1 / 7 million people) = 0.41 The answer of .41 logically makes sense, however my professor has insisted that I need a unit for the 1 over 7 million people. She also said that I need to incorporate "3 years" into the equation. Also, the problem can be set up differently, I'm just not entirely sure how to do it.
how come when I post questions about GW.. It always gets deleted? Seriously is Global Warming that much of a hot topic (no pun intended) I can't make the comparison between the mindset of Chuck Manson and Al Gore?
Goldman Sachs Summer Analyst in Services Division? I am a freshman at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing International Relations (liberal arts) as a major and perhaps also a minor in Business Administration. I will soon finish my first year working (as a freshman intern within the legal department) at the ACLU of Texas. My sophomore year might consist of me being an RA at my college dormitory and also a summer internship in the Texas Governor's Fellowship Program. My GPA isn't that great but will sure balance out in 2-3 semesters to be deemed overall "competitive." I have big entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for excellence, a commercial mindset, and enjoy global commerce. My junior-year summer, I want to intern at Goldman Sachs in their Services Division, particularly in Corporate Services & Real Estate. What does Goldman Sachs desire in prospects for the Services division? It's not like I'm applying for an internship in the I-Banking or Securities divisions... I have about two years to work EXTREMELY hard to boost up my resume, GPA, leadership, and image in general. Is there anything I should particularly focus to achieve this? I am willing to go out of my way and work hard to make this become a reality.
How is this essay I typed? 123456? James Fenimore Cooper produces a series of novels known as "The Leatherstocking Tales" depicting the adventures of Hawk eye, a white man raced by idians and his involvement with the activities of the Americans who built the frontier towns and drove the indians and there culture, out. James Coopers wealth of knowledge in history and folklore made these books amazing works of art and are considered American Classics. The Last of the Mohicans, the most famous book of the series puts Hawkeye right in the middle of the Massacre of Fort William Henry in 1757, while addressing the issues of interracial relationships, and the white mans view of the Indians. The book was adapted to several films which were reproduced and even made into a mini-series. They provide a view into the mindset of the time and all show the attitude toward settlement of the American frontier at the time, while including religous, romantic and other aspects of Hawkeyes life. James Fenimore Cooper suggests that interracial mingling is both desirable and dangerous. He shows the realtionship between Hawkeye, a white man and Chingachgook, a Mohican Indian. There bond threw there knowledge of nature enables them to transcend race, team up against the Huron Tribe,to fight with the white man. One of the prevailing themes is that nature brings all the men together in a battle field not at all like the ones of Europe, adds danger and even more challenge to the battles going on around them. The Europeans, being used to the flat laid out battle fields, tatics prove to old for the new war style, arena, and oppenent. In the movie, it seems that the mens skills in the woods reflect there all around character. Hawkeye, the protaginist of the story, has a respect and admiration for the woods, understanding its workings, and being able to us it to his advantage. Duncan's misunderstanding of the woods shows his obvious incompetence toward leading. The story also displays interracial romantic relationships as doomed and undesirable. The interracial love of Uncas and Alice ends in tragedy. The issue of interacial relationships is still around today, a taboo that in recent times is seeming more easily broken in America then ever before. During the French Indian War, in which this story takes place France, England, and there Indians allies were fighting for control of America. The indians choice alliances based on neccesity and the thought that if on the winning side, they would recieve better treatment. This was a misconception that would eventually lead to the near complete destruction of there culture and people. The title forshadows the tragedy of the film. Although the title specifically refers to Chingachgook, it also alludes to a much larger event: the murderous removal of the Indians by President Andrew Jackson’s policies of the 1830s. The book was written in this time period and reflects the extermination of the culture native toward America. Also during the time period of the novel, interacial marriage between Indians and Whites were allowed by many states, while black and white marriage was not. This is an idea streching far threw out American history and did not change for some time. The frontier is another key theme in the movie, resembling the fresh start and feeling in the new world. Another issue addressed is the old religons of Europe had no place in the new land, Calvinism, no longer had its place. Only threw hard work could you achieve success in this new world. The Indians alliances also drew from economical alliances with Indians. The English and French both traded with Indians, this helped shaped the alliances they formed threwout the fighting. The French Indian War, was a chapter of the seven year war, a global war that all of Europe was participating in. Hawkeye: Chingachgook told me, "Don't try to understand them; and don't try to make them understand you. For they are a breed apart and make no sense." A quote from the movie about the white people accoring to hawkeyes father Chingachogook. This was true of the time period, the Indians could not understand the new settles or there ways. The whole movie is a story around a key battle in the war for america. Showing its historical accuracy threw the battle resulting in the French victory, and eventullay British massacre.
I see liberal vs. conservative on here all the time. I want to know what liberal agenda people are supporting Later I will ask what the conservative mindset is. All I ever see is mudslinging as if many here are politicians. Alot of complaining but not alot of solutions. Ideas yes. How to get there, no. What PLAN to get to the end result of your choice is suggested. Example: End global warming. That is a good thing, but how do we do it and maintain the economy, jobs, and rights? Pick a cause and tell us how to get there. Even if it is saving an unknown worm in Washington.
Would you like to be part of the paticipatory process in redesigning the American neighboryhood? From the website below: "The fundamental philosophy of ecological design is to substitute ecosystem services and information, mostly from the natural world, for costly hardware and 'hard' engineering." I think this is part of a "12 step" process in addressing the mindset that gave us global climate change. Are they are the right track here, and do you think we ought to embrace this approach? http://www.uvm.edu/%7Eran/ran/ Randall, a neighborhood is greater than any individual home, street, or block. Each family, etc., is a stakeholder in a given neighborhood. And since we're sharing definitions: A stakeholder is defined as any organization, governmental entity, or individual that has a stake in or may be impacted by a given approach to environmental regulation, pollution prevention, energy conservation, etc. http://www.entrix.com/resources/glossary.aspx I've been to many a meeting where the various stakeholders are represented. Consensus may take awhile to build but it can be incredible to watch the process at work.
This is not really a question? But this is more of a debate... about the greenhouse effect/global warming. First of all, i just wanna say that yes there is global warming happening, HOWEVER, we are not doomed to destroy earth if we do not alter our daily lives. Basically this mindset i am in right now has started since the middle of winter in the great state of florida. Northern Florida. Anywho, since it is northern florida our trees shed their leaves (cept the pines of course and palms), and regrow them in spring. This winter however was warmer, and our trees did NOT shed their leaves. I dont want to be ignorant but it seems like i am the only one that has confidence in our planet's way of rebalancing itself. If the temperatures continue to increase the trees will not shed their leaves, and if this does not help, when the heat gets too much for when the trees around the northern hemisphere and around Canida's latitude which is in fact 3/4 of the trees in the world, to not shed their leaves, we will have less CO2.
Liberals & Conservatives: am I right about this? please put your party lines aside and step tot he center with me on this one, no fighting, conspiracy theories, and other silly bull that is meaningless to reality! just open your minds and awnser this for me! I believe that both parties care about our country but in differant perspectives! Republicans: love America in a more symbolic way as in patriotic sense like hot dogs, baseball, mom's apple pie, respecting the stars & stripes, not wearing white after labor day, going to church for a sense of morality, making heroes of those you feel represent the old American value system, fearing the new, and willing to kill to make sure no one changes the way you see the world from your back yard! willing to literally take a bullet to stop someone from burning our flag, and can careless about whats outside our borders! Liberals: love America but less in the symbolic way and more physical way, as in the people that live here, the many cultures and wisdoms we all enjoy, along with the natural and social environments! to them that is what makes up America and is most important to our unity! everything else like the flag, the dollar bill, the national anthem and so on is only simantics, God and religious beliefs are personal thing not a base for everyones morality in a secular society! with a passion of an America that is great but very much still a work in progress domestically and internationlly in a global community! Is this the basic mindset of each parties base minus the politics?
Evolutionism vs. Environmentalism -- NOT intended to be inflammatory -- honest opinions please.? First of all, please notice this ? is NOT in "religion & spirituality". Please keep it that way (lol). I may generalize a little bit here -- please forgive. Now, it seems that the same people that are pro-evolution are also deeply concerned about the environment, saving species and so on. If survival of the fittest is the "correct" mindset, why not let species die? Even considering human-environment interaction, saving species that we somehow cause to die out seems to be working against evolutionary ideals by reversing what WILL happen if we let it. To paraphrase McCartney, why not live and let die? Since reason vs. instinct is what makes humans the dominant species, why save others that are destined to die, evolutionarily speaking, by our actions? (I do, by the way, exclude human life and medicine from this conversation.) To expand, why then should we worry about global warming even IF we caused it? Would it not then be the next step in the evolution of our world? Thanks!
Do you agree, that the leaders of the left wing tend to have a attitude (without actually acknowelding that? they do this) of do as I say and not as I do? That they have kind of a mindset of I know whats best for the masses trust me but I dont follow my own advice? Heres a list of examples: Rosie wants to ban guns for all, but she wants her bodyguards to be armed? hmmmm...you shouldnt be able to have firearms because you the public cant handle them, but I know how to so its ok for me. Al Gore big time enviromentalist global warming is coming guy, but wants the masses to cut back on gas emissions and energy consumption. How big a house does Al have? how many? hmmmmm...he knows best huh? Nancy pelosi, agrees with Al...But why is she the only speaker to ever demand a Jet plane to fly her back and forth personally? what a way to save on energy huh? ALL, the leaders of the left want to raise bigger taxes and redistribute wealth. Why come, they who are rich on the left dont give all their millions away and move out of their big mansions and live like one of the "common people"? Oh one more....Why didn't big Bill Clinton who was so much on public school education for the masses not put his own kid in public ed? No, he put her into an elite private school! Left wing way is do what we say not what we do!
Are liberals really gullible? Serious question...? I mean, No office but just really wondering here... According to them, they were lied to by Bush (who they say is a complete moron...Must be a great liar) Lied to by the evil banks who made them think they could afford a house they knew they couldnt...and they signed the contract anyways Lied to now by the CIA, according to pelosi, They STILL believe pelosi even though Liang to congress is a FEDERAL offence that pelosi is accusing them of... (Isint there something to be said of unjustly accusing someone of a crime?) Lied to by Obama constantly And we wont even get started on global warming... can someone please help me understand the mindset that leads them to believe things when common sense, facts, and history tell them otherwise? Or is it they try to hard to give everyone the benefit of the doubt wether it will come back to bite them or not? really coyote? Like ... we dont believe in giving groups rights, but instead rights and freedoms belong to the individual? is that what you mean? Short and to the point: What question isint offensive to someone? Dems. carter then clinton 2x. And oh no, its not a rant at all.. I just really want to know. Hey Herb, Nother question for you bud, specifically. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=As4dSwCO7tJjQluN8etum8Dsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090520094814AADvoVC

purely hypothetical!!? ok i want to know the mindset of people. for those of you that have som insight into marxist and socialist theory. if i (a liberal proletarain) were to start a revolution based loosly on marxist and communist ideals would you join me? the details the idea would be to bring a rise to the poor and a downfall to the rich (cliche i know but nonetheless the idea). by use of violence and political domination leading to (atleast in theory) a global empire (that if it were a millennia or 2 later would extend into deep space) through use of violence we would eliminate all class system (even though it is not recognized there are classes) ad brin the poor and the proletarian to an equal level as well as bringing the rich down to this median state. also recreational use of ANY narcotic and alcohol would be punishable by death. public execution would be used to make a point and create some fear propaganda (cant make an empire without propaganda). more small details but im out of letters. a yes or no answer would be fine people you dont have to insult because unless you dont know what hypothetical means. stupid shits
Why are humans so still dependent on themselves when the age we live in doesn't require them that much? Many people in this world are full of greed and selfishness because either their society encourages it or they are just crazy. When will societies finally reach a mindset of innovating the global community? As a "digital native" I see mass potential in innovative technologies that can drastically change the world even on the individual scale. Why aren't governments or communities implementing these technologies in real-time? What are they afraid of? Some of these innovative technologies in the long run or very quickly can increase revenue for everyone. Back to my question, why are humans so dependent on themselves? Our education system for example, we are actually still dependent on error-prone teachers and out-dated textbooks. When will people get rid of these stupid old age things and replace them with technology (iPads) invented by previous generations who have already been through the education system? This is not happening fast enough! Why aren't people buying solar panels? They may be expensive, but in the long run they will save you so much money eventually so you can buy other things to save you even more money! Why aren't many people building ultra-modern self sufficient houses to rely less on the grid and humans to work the electrical stuff. I admit I am a high school student and just feel like my high school is so slow to innovate and make education and the environment I learn in better. Everyday, I go to school and I just feel like I don't want to go because it is boring! I am not saying that every subject I study is boring, but i feel like there are better and faster ways to learn that the schools these days aren't implementing. I feel like my potential is limited and my imagination being dulled. What happened? I thought education was supposed to make you feel like you were going to do something to change the world and I at least thought previous generations would come up with new learning techniques and technology. What is so wrong in thinking education should be fun? I think when you have fun in what your learning in you remember better and it just feels like schools and our government standards have taken this away. My school is old and broken down and needs to be tore down and in its place construct a new ultra-modern efficient school. Is it because people just don't have enough anymore because SOME PEOPLE out there don't want to give money to improve the world in which they live in which in turn makes their lives better? WHAT! Are you even serious right now! Wow, I think I just spilled a little of my brain, but those are some ideas I have about the US right now basically. I don't know if I'm wrong or misinformed, BUT I would know if the education system widened my perspective beyond my little community. I just feel limited...
