Mid UK election = ideal public mood & mindset to ask how best to improve your Yahoo Answers experience? Site search, 8-9 hrs ago, showed it's 5 months, 9 months & a year ago since such questions were posted http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/search/search_result?p=how+to+improve+the+Yahoo+Answers+experience I purposely didn't click & read details, to encourage YOU to sift out & share/link the gems, OK? Pondering election questions for tonight's hustings @ http://www.frontline.org.uk @ 7.30pm got me thinking about how to improve this site My last Y/A post - an edit to my question @ best leadership principles - shared how I'd spent @ 3 hours, grom @ 7.15am, pondering, composing & editing a thorough, comprehensive question that asked reactions on no less than 11 ideas & when I hit the 'categorise your question', all that work vanished! LOL & I just have @ 18 mins before I must go out - to Rock Night @ LIPA's 3rd Degree Music Festival - so it's best, for now, to leave the 11 ideas to your imagination & simply ask your ideas @ improving Y/A? OK .. OK .. to give you some stimulus, my thinking was crystallised by 2 all-too-typical V/Ns What improvement ideas does that spark? LOL Must get ready & go out: over to YOU! OK .. OK .. In case I forget, I'll just share for now:- 1 - Y/A really must ditch automatic deletion, as it only encourage troll report monkeys, yes? Do you agree that all fair forums assess all complaints/reports by first asking reportee's reaction Then assess who needs warning or deletion 2 - 'Misuse of question & answer format' needs defining & maybe rethinking, yes? Do you agree that there are many questions that clearly overlap more than 1 Y/A sectiion? & that, therefore, you simply can't get a full answer without asking alk 2/3/4 areas of expertise & interest for their input? 3 - Do you agree that, as long as you do genuinely try & answer a question, that linking to a parallel questiion elsewhere helps, noit hinders, both the asker & other readers wuith the same problem? Again, over to you, OK? My apologies for @ 3 typos there: you can see that, though I did a quick proof read, my yawning musta blinded me to 'em I can only recall 'noit' = not ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ !!!!
Why are a good majority of the people that respond to YAHOO questions authoritarian type personalities? 9 traits define this personality type, but I'm only referring to the first four: CONVENTIONALISM, AUTHORITARIAN SUBMISSION, AUTHORITARIAN AGGRESSION, ANTI-INTRACEPTION. It seems as if an extreme collective mindset defines many of their answers. They frown upon anything from breaking a warranty, to filing a work grievance, to more subversive activities. In their eyes the LAW is always right and always ironclad.
Do you think Yahoo Answers fosters a quest for validation? What I mean by this is that I have been around Yahoo Answers for a while now, and I am a bit disillusioned with it. The reason why is that I see a lot of questions asked with a predetermined type of answer already in mind (especailly in the political and religious sections). So someone asks the question, and they get a number of answers, and some of those answers do not agree with the askers belief system, or mindset and thus they never get picked as best answer. And often times the one who answers the question is berrated and insulted. This happens quite often, even when the one answering the question gives a full, concise, and intelligent answer. I've seen this happen time and time again, from all sides of the political and religious spectrum. Thus my question: Do you think that many people who ask questions here on Yahoo Answers are seeking validation for their belief system rather than seeking actual knowledge?
Are some of you having questions pulled involving questions including the integrity and mindset of the right? I had two questions in a row just now reported and deleted. Nothing offensive, no ranting or raving. Is there a Republican/Conservative machine on Yahoo Answers effectively censuring this forum?

Change of Mindset - Do you agree the people's mindset changed because of politicians, media and televisions? Change of mindset - Do you agree that the mindset of tamil people changed ? This question i posted in yahoo answers. A member requested to delete the question on some reason. i am always good and i am always giving respects to the members words. i appreciate the member come direct to me instead of doing some alternative ways. so, i feel members are now progressed well in their thinkings. i come with this category since the spiritulity is there.
Do you have a question for that you can't find an answer out of the established mindset from human society? Then what is your question? You might know that within a question lays half of the answer. So please be as serious and careful as you are capable and ask only a question that has to do with your search about your personal growth. I will answer these questions here in the additional details or if the answer needs too much space for this, then in a separated Yahoo question. @Kev Hancock: How do you solve the hard problem of consciousness? *Alien*: Consciousness by itself has no problem. These are only showing up when consciousness is limited and stuck due to the identification with a certain state of manifestation. The discrepancy between consciousness and the form you are holding causes the hard problems. You can use these as a way to realize where you are stuck. See these 'problems' as reactions mirrored back to you, so that you become aware of it and realize that you are the cause and then you can use your decision to clear up your unconscious program that is holding you in your form, that is your 'personality', giving you the experience of *existence*, that is 'second hand' and not *pure being*. @Naguru: How to convert people from ordinary outlook to philosophical outlook? *Alien*: I have answered this question, but it is too long for this limited space. You can read it at: http://falconblanco.com/alienpage.htm#outlook @Lilith: The answers to your questions can be found within the common mindset, but there is no other question, so as well I can answer it: No, you can't learn more about yourself, your surrounding is not the most important. The most significant is your attitude. How you see your outside and in relation to yourself. With other words: If you have the attitude, that whatever and whenever something shows up in your daily life, that this is right and exactly what you need in your learning and growing process, then it doesn't really matter where and what this is. You will be open and willing to relate what is in front of you and then out of your best ability respond. The secrete and mostly unknown by humans, is that you observe your reactions during your daily encounters. With this you have the opportunity to clear up your unconscious background and this is an important part in your growing. From your reactions you can see where your expectations clash with your daily reality and so >>> >>> you can see your program you are living & your reaction to what's there. That will teach you, that you were living in a fake reality that has built up your self image putting you in a straitjacket. Then you can become critical about your surrounding as a first step, so that conditions & happenings & your own reactions doesn't suck you To come to this step, you need your surrounding Then you will come to a different lifestyle, drop some of your habits & other dependencies you have gotten so used to. When you don't need so much people & actions, then a quiet area will attract you & will be beneficial so that you can focus more on your inside, like doing meditation. Communication also doesn't depend on outside situations. It is in the first place your ability to relate to others and respond in a way that connects & so makes real communication possible. As a concept it will fail when you are trying to realize this idea on the outside, in a reality that doesn't fit your dream world. @IP:Your questions pointing to the most critical aspect of humanities condition & that is the state of consciousness represented & limited in the established mindset. This must be overcome to be able to find a way out There is a way out.People must understand, that they can't find fulfillment, satisfaction & happiness by trying to reach goals on the outside.People must understand, that all depends on their own condition & that the expectation of fulfillment from the outside is a trap. They must understand, that they are programed & used in a corrupt system, were clever people are pushing buttons to make people do what they want. All 'understanding' must come out of their own need when being ready. To 'wake up' people must do things that further their condition like changing their used life style & habits. Important to prepare oneself can be an exercise called meditation that can be done without connection with beliefs.Being critical & questioning oneself & ones surrounding can be a good start. @InkyPinkie: I ensure you: Yes, humans can wake up! @Lilith: "Are the awakened aware? Are there different levels of awakening? Am I thinking too hard?" When sleeping & dreaming, then it might happen, that you are aware that you are dreaming. Right? Then you get out of your sleep & wake up, then you are more aware. Within your state of not sleeping you can have different levels of awareness, it will depend on your mood, your physical condition & other influences. Then of course it depends on your personal development, if you are just an average human then your awareness will be pretty dumb and doll. Or if you are more advanced in your growing, then you will be more aware & might doubt what you are perceiving as promoted reality starting to look through it. So slowly waking up. Dear Lilith, yes, you are thinking too hard. That happens always with people who are starting to wake up & then trying to find answers. With your thinking you might not find them, you must go beyond your mind & find answers in your *being*! I suggest: >>> >>> that you further your awareness, wherever you can. Be selective in your alimentation. Make a check-up of your habits and drop every thing that has a negative influence on your system: Body, mind and emotions. As the most important I suggest that you do the exercise you will get to know at the following link. Be critical and ask questions, then the answers will show up, because you are ready to receive. You can also ask me at my Web page at the link below, because this question here will close in a few hours. Thanks to all who answered my question with their question, so that I had the pleasure to be able to answer. http://falconblanco.com/release/ http://falconblanco.com/alienpage.htm @BeiYin: Your comment represents the complicate mind of humans and indeed for this you can't find an answer within this mindset. I will answer your question, but there are only a few minutes left here. Go to my Web page, the link is above... Or I will contact you. One minute left! Thank you all, this was an interesting try to connect with you and it shows that there are possibilities...
Will it be ok to expose the misdeeds of extremely severe culprits by their exact details here at Yahoo itself? The purpose is obvious! Letting them get away with their mindset and (mis)deeds causes HORRRRRRRRRRIBLE IMBALANCE in sex ratio at the same time causing INCALCULABLE damages to the society as a whole. (Telling the Principal or HOD won't make ANY difference whatsoever! They are nothing better than a couple of BRAINLESS COWARDS!)
What is it that entices you about Yahoo Answers? The community and rapidness of response surprises me. Do all of you that answer questions, also ask them? Do you answer questions that you know what you are talking about, or just any question to get points? Do you use strategy to get best answer based on the mindset of the person asking the question, making it funny, in depth, or practical? Why do you come to this website?
Ladies: How often do you run into people with this kind of unintelligent mindset? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoFeb_vVogO3O2vgi9lz6APsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20081130090549AAzZ5lT&show=7#profile-info-g2xjmNpXaa Oh, and men who where raised by a single mother, please put in your two cents as well!
Does a feminist mindset cause divisiveness? One of the lessons taught by the civil rights movement is that differing results cause activists to assume the oppression of one group to be the cause. I am referring to the frequent brandishings of racism in recent years and not to the civil rights movement in the 1950's and 1960's. Feminism is no different in that, though they will say otherwise, feminists equate an end-result to available opportunity (see my prior question below). Naturally, like the "race card", this causes feminists to seek out social causes for subtle social differences which typically result in accusations of oppresive men. So it seems to me that the end result of feminism is strife between men and women where none is necessary by assuming wrongdoing by men by actively pursuing the causes of differing outcomes which inevitably includes charges of oppression. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=An7B5pvQy65dKhwoNtSKUsrsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071206115240AAWYvnd Tracey: I'm glad you finally "responded" to a question that didn't involve bodily fluids in some way, but you still managed not to respond. "Feminist mindset" is a pretty obvious term with no political connotations whatsoever. But the fact that your answer actually seeks divisiveness rather than attempting a real answer, you've supported my point. Tracey: It's a self-defining term that needs no elaboration. A "mindset" is a disposition. A "feminist mindset" would therefore be a feminist disposition. In other words, a "feminist mindset" would be the way in which a feminist views the world....His/her outlook. The angle at which s(he) approaches issues/problems. Rio Madeira: In my previous question you were unable to provide a measurement for equality of opportunity that didn't depend entirely on outcome. So there is apparently little to no practical difference between the two (at least in your mind). Wouldn't unequal result then lead to accusations of unequal opprtunity against men. And if those men aren't guilty of your accusations, wouldn't that cause divisiveness? Rio Madeira: That's all fine and dandy, but from a practical perspective that's not quite how it works. I'm sure there are far more accusations of racism in the present day than there are acts of it. Rio Madeira: My question pertains more to whether or not feminism has a tendency to cause people to find divisive issues rather than claiming that all feminists seek to be divisive.
Did you read that yahoo article about taxes? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110417/ap_on_bi_ge/us_no_taxes I don't get what Schoenberg means when he says "This voluntary idea clearly represents a mindset that basically pretends there's no such things as collective goods that we produce, Schoenberg said. Are you going to let people volunteer to build the road system? Are you going to let them volunteer to pay for education" can somebody explain?
How come a ask a Futebol question like players mindset but when i ask a Q about Jessica alba, i get answers? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Au75dh2Q5VreNREztGX2S.vsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071016101313AANzmzu and http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ah6jLQgLpfgyTLlJfJ98tCDsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071016103844AAX4iik see the difference i think i should change the avatar to but im afraid it wont work
If you didn't properly pay your taxes, screwed up a major bail-out - what on earth gives you the mindset that? you should be given more responsibility? "Geithner seeks new powers over financial companies" http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090324/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/bailout_bernanke_geithner I don't usually agree with Dr Savage - but I think in this instance he is correct.
How do atheists feel about being so insignificant? in terms of numbers, and being all alone in the world with their flawed mindset and only having yahoo answers to meet since they are so stubborn about not having an organization to go to, where they can repeat their hym "I dont believe in God, i dont believe in fairy tales" over and over again.
Is this article Yahoo propaganda? http://news.yahoo.com/frank-miller-doesnt-think-much-occupy-wall-street-194424503.html I want to know exactly how all the related stories at the bottom of each paragraph are related to the story in a non government mindset control way. Screw you Yahoo!!! I can see how an idiot would derive at such connections...... freedom of speech if you support ows equals terrorist... Again FY... Basically what I'm seeing is if you support to these people you corolate with..... -Mystery Witnesses Revealed for Muslim Radicalization Hearings -Two Iraqis Living in Kentucky Indicted on WMD Charges -Car Bomb Explodes at U.N. When will Yahoo get it's act together regarding their chat service? I have been using Yahoo Messenger for several years and have seen the service degrade rapidly. The chat rooms are flooded with bots. The rooms lists are horribly outdated. The rooms lists won't load. It takes forever to join a chatroom. Once you get in, you are often sent to another room involuntarily. Chatting used to be an enjoyable experience and I've made many good friends there. Any correspondence to Yahoo seems to fall on deaf ears. They seem to be in the mindset that because it's a free service, fixing it is low priority. Even chat features have been de-emphasized. How often are new audibles released? The IMvironments are nothing more than glorified advertisments. Booters are still a problem. It does NOT have to be like this. Yahoo could easily add a small step to the login process that would get rid of 90% of the bots. I'm sure you've seen login screens where you have to enter in a series of letters to login. "Bots" could not do this step. Buy Yahoo chooses to do NOTHING. Why?
Is this really the mindset of archeologists? (see details pls.)? I read this in Yahoo about the excavation of Washington's house: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070607/ap_on_re_us/washington_s_slaves Cheryl LaRoche, a "culteral heritage specialist" said the following: "We've been striving to present a balanced view of history that stands apart from what's been taught in history books". Does that statement disturb you like it did me? To me, it plainly stated that her mindset, her "aim" if you will, is to deliberately debunk all history books, whether it be true or not. She wants it balanced by making sure it "stands apart" from history books. I know I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, but isn't that straying from what I've always considered to be the credo of historic discovery ... to learn the truth? I mean, her aim is not that truth be found, her statement sounds like she's determined to be at odds with history as we were taught it ... even if the truth is somewhere in the middle. What are your thoughts?
Why are people obsessed with answering questions they have no answers for? When will people realize that misinformation is worse than no information at all!?!?!?! Are people really so obsessed with their ratings on yahoo answers that they would steer people in the wrong direction? It is this type of mindset that is destroying the fabric of society!
Didn't we tell you the "mindset" of Iran and it's leaders. Do you admit Bush was right about talks with Iran? Or does it take a article from Yhaoo designed to hurd you libs into thinking this "mindset" is all new. Not the first lesson Obama has got from Bush and not the last! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090321/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_iran_us_what_s_next
How do we escape postmodernism? I mean, how do we get out of the mindset that everything is a metaphor for something else? I tried reading a book, but the story was a metaphor for part of my life. I tried playing sports, but that was a metaphor for life itself. I tried watching Jerry Springer, but that was a metaphor for everything that was wrong with life. I tried having lunch, but then I sat down with a vegetarian, and everything became a metaphor for religious/cultural differences. I tried having sex, but that became a metaphor for the battle between the Apollonian and the Dionysian. I tried asking a question on Yahoo!(r) Answers, but that became a metaphor for making metaphors. Help!
I just looked at Yahoo's top searches for today. ...are you kidding me? Go to Yahoo's homepage and look on the bottom right. Not to say that americans are any smarter or dumber than people from other countries. Is that the general type of mindset a people has to have in order to believe in a religion? a link? www.yahoo.com http://www.yahoo.com
Does this mindset irk you a little? My parents (who are both independents, by the way) taught me that I should work for what I want, and that I shouldn't expect it to be given to me because of who I am. But that's just it --- everyone seems to believe they have a certain divine right to be granted certain things. It really irks me that *some* people believe that they've earned a certain immunity or are some exception to the rules because of it. I've descended from South India, and my ancestors were practically slaves to the British empire. On top of that, they were promised a better life in the Caribbean and they worked for meager pay tilling the sugar cane fields and cotton fields when they got there. That doesn't mean I can just demand plantations, does it? I personally didn't work to earn that land, why should I get it? you see what I mean? What's happenning to America? I was always told to work for what I wanted, no expect it. Anyone else notice this mindset in other individuals, not here on Yahoo, but in real life?
Why can you not submit a new answer to a question after you delete one? Sometimes you start an answer with a certain mindset and once you have it done you realize you gave an answer that wasn't right for the question. Shouldn't you then be able to delete that answer and write a new one? I understand if your answer was deleted by Yahoo, but what if the situation I outlined happened?
How Can You Respect Some Of The Posters Here? They come into Yahoo Answers asking questions that are really statements, attacking either the left or the right (depending on their agenda), then attacking those who dissagree with them. They try to push their agenda. Most make claims they can't prove and stereotype nearly everyone not sharing their mindset. And they won't leave any contact infro. And the few that do give contacts list false e-mails. And they, of course rarely have 360 profiles. Seriously, even if some of these puppets have a legit point to make I still have no respect for them and their lack of moral fiber. Do you? Super-duper, my agenda is being as honest and as fair as I possibly can, never saying anything that I know is a falsehood, never saying anything that claims a groupe of people as one voice and never making excuses for errors.
The Great Boxing minds of the past (Yahoo Answers)? How do today's Answerer's compare to lets say when Santana D was "King" here? It seems with the utmost certainty that the feeling and mindset definitely changed for the worst, although there are some glimmers of hope.
what impact for yahoo by making this yahoo! answers? any conspiracy ? Mr. Jerry Yang & staff are invited.? here's some of my assumptions.. 1. Brand Power. For strengthen Yahoo brand. especially now there's threat from Google. Community power. 2. Knowledge Sharing. Yahoo answer as knowledge mining. since today knowledge is power. 3. Technology. Yahoo is trying to make a logic for human's question / language. which can be used later in AI, Expert system, Robot. 4. Business. Yahoo is creating a program that can give individualized/personalized promotion/marketing based on all your Q&A's. in the future there will be an personalized offer or banner from yahoo! shop or yahoo's affiliate partner. 5. Information Yahoo use it as statistic/demographic which they can use for their strategic plan or they can sell the info to other company. so they might have 'hidden' employee undercover by asking question which product/service you prefer. 6. Just 4 fun before i've thought about to influence our mindset. but it's impossible since there're too many outher influencer (questioner and answerer). i read from previous questions. for advertisement. or promotion in the featured question. but anyway, thanks for creating this yahoo! answers. it's cool ! i'm addicted into it.. there're lots of people get helped...
"the mindset of showing dogs, trying to confirm to a standard, and breed the perfect dog is wrong."? So often the amazing dog lovers here at yahoo answer can word something a lot better than I can get out of it... how would you REPLY to the title(and the quote far below). (note I did no actual say the title, nor agree with it, it's a quote from someone) i've been debating with a person..they just keep saying 'a dog is a dog' and getting the idea somehow that i'm blaming the dogs, i guess. I guess a don't understand because no matter how much 'a dog is a dog' thats still...no excuse fro designer breeds, sold at 1.2k. e-e Then they use the idea of crossbreeding in dogs to outbreed a bad trait as an excuse for mixed breed designer dogs, like labardoodles. As well as "all the dogs in the past where mixed to create the dogs we have today" idea. heres THEIR full quote: The definition of "purebred" is an animal that breeds true. When you breed two purebreds the offspring looks like the parents. A lab bred to a lab will always look like a lab. To be honest, I think of dogs as just dogs. I don't see one being special or better than the other. Because dogs are mutant canines we created. They are all the same species. Dogs were originally bred to serve a purpose often a working one. Guess what? They were often mixes of several different types of dogs. I think the whole mindset that I see nowadays probably got started when someone decided that we needed to show our dogs and conform to a standard someone came up with. That we must breed the prefect dog. In my mind bettering the breed means breeding dogs that are more healthy and sound. Even if it means crossbreeding. There was a Dalmatian breeder who did a breeding project to produce a line of Dalmatians that weren't riddled with a genetic disorder that causes a bladder problem in the breed called Hyperuricemia. Dalmations for some reason do not have the "normal" gene in their gene pool. So he had to reintroduce the gene otherwise it would be impossible to eliminate the disorder. How he did it? He crossbred his Dalmatians with English Pointers who are thought to be related. Then he backcrossed the offspring to pure-Dals. After several generations he had purebred Dalmatians free of the disorder. But he was not allowed to register the dogs because of the hybrids farther back in the pedigree. He bettered the breed but the club with its mindset that all of the dogs in the pedigree must be all of the same breed so therefore his dogs aren't allowed. " oh yeah, and sorry for asking all these types of questions. (well this is the second one). But it's really bothering me I suppose... thats what i'm thinking cashflow, they keep just barely skimming the surface of every topic.
In a deflated/disheartened mindset and cannot get out of it...TTC (Long Question)? Afternoon all, Ok first off I'm looking for some help/advice and not for abusive replies or answers telling me to basically get a grip - of all the categories to ask advice on in Yahoo answers, I believe the TTC forum to be one where empathy is needed! I am fully aware that there are people in worse off situations than me (isn't there always someone worse off?!) but that doesn't help me in my personal heartache... My husband and I have been TTC baby no2 - we've tried for 2 months so far and both times been unsuccessful. We're not obese, non smokers, rarely drink, not too much caffeine, pretty active, no problems we're aware of health wise, I take prenatal vits and have been for months and I use OPKs. We conceived our first baby the first month and had a good pregnancy (retained placenta manually removed but wasn't made aware of any issues with that...all seemed to go ok). For some reason, I have gotten myself (since period came the first month we tried) into this mindset that I won't be able to have anymore...that because I didn't fall on the first 2 months, something will be wrong and one baby is all we'll ever have. I KNOW this might sound ridiculous to some but this is genuine and I cannot help it nor snap out of it. After the first month, I perked up and said ok well lets look at next month (convinced myself I'd be ok with it if my period came)...and then the 2nd month my period came and I was devastated again and back to square one with negative thoughts. I'm trying to hide my tears from everyone as I feel like no one understands my fears...or they'll say things like 'it'll happen when it's mean't to'...which as many of you in a similar boat will know, isn't the answer you want. Even my doc said 'It could take 1 year, 2 years...who knows...always possible you won't be able to have anymore...' - when there have been no problems, I don't know why she would confirm my fears!? Surely there to offer some enthusiastic words? I have done lots of reading online about averages etc and they say majority of couples conceive within 12 months...but that's 12 months of ensuring sex over fertile days EVERY MONTH? My husband works away and so sometimes we miss months. For example, if we don't get pregnant 3rd shot (this month), he'll miss my fertile days Aug/Sept and so we're looking at atleast Oct. We only have 3 more chances this year when he'll be home (by end of year we'll have been trying 5 months - but not 5 in a row). I so desperately wanted to be pregnant this year as we got married this year too. The 'majority pregnant in 12 months' doesn't mean 12 consecutive months does it? Just after 12 cycles of trying at the right times? What are my chances of falling by end of year if I'll have had 5 shots? I'm also confused by these stats that 25% fall in first 3 months, 60% fall in 6 months and most fall by 12 months....and they say you have a 15-25% chance (age dependant) of conceiving each month - what happens if you fall into the 75%+ per month EVERY MONTH? 75% is a much higher percentage so your chances of regularly falling into it are high? That's how I feel it'll be for us - we just won't fall into the 15-25% ever! I used OPKs as I said (only used them last month for first time) and I got my smiley face. Does that mean I'm DEFINITELY ovulating? So I don't need to worry that I'm not ovulating anymore? My cycle is regular, every 25-27 days. I got my OPK smiley on day 10 last month...but my period came on day 27 this month so expect ovulation 14 days before so day 13 I should have ovulated? Why would I get smiley on day 10? I just need to hear what the chances are that I'll have problems/how the averages work and how I won't fall into the 75% every time.... I feel soooo disheartened and I just can't get out of this mindset...I need some a hand to pull me out. Please take the time to read over my post and answer, hugely appreciated. Going out with a different mindset to love? To see full story, check here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aog31c2FCIE.yTvDuRE4ap3ty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20100511170004AA1RvLm I've had a chance to speak with my (ex)girlfriend again and I've asked her how they were supposed to do anything if she was in love with me and she told me that he already knows that she loves me and the only way they're going to do anything is with a different mindset without love. Please understand, that she isn't the type to use someone and mess someone over, I've really gotten to know her over the past 3 years and she's intelligent with strong morals. She's strongly religious and wouldn't go out with him for the sex or whatnot because she's never done that kind of thing. So how is she saying these things? How is she saying that they both know that she loves me so they'll continue liking each other with a different mindset without love. I am so confused.
Is it just me or are there a bunch of conservatives on yahoo answers? maybe I'm looking to far into it, but almost every answer I get to most of my questions seem to be answered by a mindset along side out current president.....
How can I change my mindset? Obviously, most of us have gone through high school on Yahoo Answers. (Aside from the Homework Help section that is) Regardless, I am in high-school and I literally hate the fact that I feel so little of myself. I have very little self-esteem and I have no reason to feel so. I am 3rd in my class, (3.9 - 4.0) while continuing to play sports and do above-average at them as well. Granted I am not asking to be a "cool" kid. That is the last thing I want. I want to have the mindset that cool kids have that make them cool. I wasn't raised to boast my skills or talk big. I just wanted to be able to feel "I'm better than you and I know it" while still being modest and not self conscious about how people think about me everyday. I want to be able to go to my school and be able to give a rats ass about how people view me. I understand all that I want. How do I go about achieving it? I appriciate all the answers, And some of you answered what I was looking for and some not so much, but I think what I was trying to get at as my question, was how do I get the self-satifaction (that the cool kids have not earned, but I have and still don't have)? Many of you jumped on highschool and cool kids when you saw them.. They are just examples

What is with the Yahoo community? Geez, this is probably more of a complaint, but in the last few months it seems like the majority of people commenting on Yahoo's news articles come across as delusional and out of touch with reality. I didn't think that American society was that dissatisfied with life in general. Why are so many of you so infuriated with even minor occurances in daily life? If this makes Yahoo's community mad, I can guarantee that you won't stand a chance against a genuine crisis. As an example, let's look at the hatred towards your buddy Obama. I don't think he's a great president at all (please spare me the leftwing vs rightwing nonsense) nor was Bush all that great either. In fact, all the presidents pretty much sucked. However, it seems the so called blogosphere thinks that Obama somehow is able to enslave the entire country with a wink of his eye. Is Obama Superman to the blogosphere or something? If you all hate Obama and Washington, then please, leave. Take your city or state or wherever you live and just break away. Secede. There's no sense in holding the whole country together if all we do is argue and bicker over every Mickey mouse issue. Put aside the Constitution and all the political rhetoric for a moment here. It seems like a huge food fight erupts over everything from gay rights to taxes to the budget to the military; you name it, there's bound to be a catfight. There have been screaming matches over even the minor everyday nuances of average people on Yahoo news stories. I'm guessing that the anger and hostility goes far back in American culture. I'm just raising a point that most people seem fearful to ask. Do I fear the future? Yes and no. I think the only serious problem my generation faces is a crisis of political identity. I don't worry about the environment/gay rights/the economy/military/everything else because these are problems that can be solved with the right political mindset. (Perhaps the political system in America doesn't work anymore?) Please, tell me. Why is the Yahoo community (in fact the entire blogosphere) so upset now?
How has the Internet broadened your horizons? Has it ever changed your mindset & opened your mind? Do you express your view on a debate on an internet forum in a way that you'd never dare to in real life? Beijing, Oct 3 (Xinhua) Website business manger Shao Yibei describes herself as 'a tiny waterdrop in the ocean of Chinese netizens longing to shine'. But she never knew she would shine overnight. The 26-year-old music lover had a five-minute video clip uploaded on the Internet in February, in which she was singing while playing guitar a self-composed song about an urban single woman's attitude towards marriage.'My friend uploaded the clip just for fun,' said Shao, 'But none of us expected what would happen the next day'. The response from the virtual world was overwhelming, with more than 300,000 hits during the first couple of days. Shao also received thousands of 'friend requests' on her blog. Movie producers invited Shao to compose songs even when her first album is getting readied. 'I feel difficult to communicate with others in real life, so music is my way of expression,' said Shao, 'But it's the Internet that makes me 'heard'.'Shao is now best known as folk singer and blogger 'Shao Xiaomao'. Zhang Jie, a 26-year-old editor in the southwestern municipality of Chongqing, has found surfing indispensable in her daily life since she first had access to Internet 10 years ago.'The Internet does not only bring convenience to my life, but more importantly, it reforms my mindset,' said Zhang. 'The Internet gives me much more than a digital identity, it transforms me into a person with independent thought and open mind.' http://in.news.yahoo.com/43/20091003/876/twl-internet-helps-young-chinese-shine.html
How can Yahoo Answers be improved to deter opinion posters and encourage real questions? A lot of the questions I see posed on Yahoo Answers are only phrased as questions but seem to be posed by people who already think they know the answer. They seem to want reinforcement of their existing belief/political opinion/general bias. It's become more of a one-sided forum where the person posing the question gets to select an answer which simply reinforces their existing mindset and then they add comments to diminish other answers which might be well-considered, but which are contrary to their personal opinion. How can Yahoo Answers be improved to encourage real questions. That is, questions which are posed to improve knowledge and understanding. How can we discourage faux questions and by doing so improve the quality of the Yahoo Answers tool in the process? Should faux question posers be considered 'abuse' of the tool? Who determines/how is it to be determined which members are faux question posers? Josh, it isn't that I want to deter people asking questions with a view of getting different perspectives. I'm all for encouraging that. I want to deter people who post simply for re-inforcement of their existing prejudices and belittle responders who offer perspectives which are disjointed from the poser's world view. That's part of the problem - if reporting faux questions as 'abuse' is a possible solution, then what would be the guidelines for determining what is or is not a faux question? Is there a way for Yahoo! to be able to moderate this? Because if there isn't I see the tool degenerating into nothing more than the political pointscoring, non-listening, egocentric posts we see in many online forums. I think Yahoo! Answers has great potential, but I see the use of Yahoo! Answers for faux questions as being the downfall of the tool.
Doesn't this response say all that needs to be known about the leftist mindset? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkopGkk1i0dyvJLOe9IHY0zsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20100329035555AAUJp2o&show=7#profile-info-L0Dp5uYWaa "Be violent all you want. Doesnt bother this leftist. Just leave the racism, sexism and homophobia out of it." That might well be the first honest answer I've seen from a leftist on here. Violence in the name of one's political beliefs are OK, but whatever you do, don't voice an opinion which they find troubling. How typical would you say this is of their mindset? logan: I used the honest one.

Is having someone on Yahoo! Answers do your homework for you cheating? It's inevitable and it happens every day. I run through a list of questions on the main page of Yahoo! Answers and over one-third of them are requests not just for help with homework problems ("Could you show me how to...?") but also requests to have the homework provided for them ("Compare and contrast the philosophical ideologies of the two major superpowers circa 1984"). My question: is this right? I grew up in a time when getting help with your homework meant, if you were lucky, either getting dad to help or, if you were even luckier, a cute girl to tutor you. I guess this is more of an opinion poll than a question, but I really am curious about the mindset behind this. Thanks!
I screwed up in school and I need some direction Yahoo Answers' most ambitious academics, will you help me? Awwwwlright, I don't mean to make this long but I like to give me questions some background. I am generally a very good student and I I'm almost fanatical about my grades. When I tell you that I'm so far a 4.0 student I hope you realize I'm not bragging - but that I am very ambitious and It's important in letting you know how "elephantine" an issue this is. Last semester I did relatively well and got all A's ( all but 2 of which were over 99% in the class at the final) but this semester, which started this week - I have gotten 2 grades back in 2 different classes so far and they were both C's. Needless to say, I am VERY concerned and here is why. I see myself as rather unattractive and though I hate to admit it, socially I am as awkward as can be. I sit alone at lunch and study. I do homework on Friday nights. When the teacher says she wants a paragraph - I'll write her a book. I meander from class to class and to my house often without saying a word to anyone but my teachers. Safe to say, I have turned my schoolwork into my life, and until I end up with an Aston Martin, a mansion, and a model for a wife, I don't see that changing. My motto is this: "Though I am ugly, awkward, skinny and worthless - I am disciplined and capable. I am resolute and assiduous and WILL NOT allow myself to fail." Anyway - all my ambitions are placed atop me getting good grades (and dare I say - graduating with a 4.0) It's my purpose, and when I don't succeed at it - it's honestly like I have lived a failed life. Anyway, I figured that there must be someone on Yahoo answers that has experienced something similar and I want them to enlighten me as to how I can get myself in the mindset to succeed. I don't want to know "How to get good grades." I want to know how I can pull myself out of this slump and MAKE myself a success once again. How do fix things at the start of the semester before it's too late? I know you guys are competitive - but I need your help.
How do I brainstorm for mindsets? You know, the new research that was done. The research that proved through brainscans that the "think and you shall become" phenomenon of the mind is true. The research that provided proof that there isn't truly any human will, only willingness. The research that if according to my calculations means I really am a superhero. How do I brainstorm for new mindsets? I also want to learn how to expand my Yahoo! Questions to get more intelligent responses. Responses that can be posed as questions easily to recreate a discussion. In essence create a mastermind group style of questioning.... that is my ultimate mindset. Do you catch my drift? If you do please answer in kind. Siagatau Please refrain from insulting me. I am a very confused individual.

Does knowledge and education in Economics equals success in investing? As someone who took an economics class and intends to get a Master's in Economics in the future, I notice a tendency for many students in Economics as well as starting Economist who think that knowing Economic fundamentals and having education in basic economics will immediately mean they will have the tools for success in investing. I had classmates who literally thought they'll succeed in the stockmarket and running a business just because they have taken a few economic classes or they'll get a degree in economics. Personally I think this is absolutely naive. Yes,investing and economics both involve money. However the principles are different and cannot necessarily be used interchangeably. I,as someone who currently has some investments, can tell you first on that investing requires a different "mindset" and "skill set" from economics. Apples and Oranges IMO. What do you think Yahoo Answers Economists and Investors?Particularly on how many students taking Economics in colleges or many noobs who just happen to land a job as an Economist think that their Economics knowledge will be interchangeably useful in Investing and of how they think they'll surely become successful millionaire( some even boast billionaires!) investors just because they're well-versed in Economics?
Is depression just a mindset? I don't know much about depression, nor do I have it. However, I have seen a lot of questions on Yahoo about having depression, how to get over it, etc. Can you actually be diagnosed with "depression?" I know that the feeling of happiness is caused by the release of serotonin in the brain (or somewhere), but can you actually have a condition where you release less serotonin? Or do people just think that they are clinically "depressed," and get into a mindset that there's no hope, then just go downhill from there? I know it's lot of questions, but hey, that's what this site's for right?
